Features List

  • High Definition Audio

    High Definition Audio

Unrivalled audio quality with built in high quality audio circuits and wideband codecs.

    High Definition Audio

For clarity there's nothing that sounds better. Technology such as VoIP has raised the standards and encouraged improvements in overall voice quality in telephony.

    How does it work?

Wideband audio extends the frequency of voice signals as they are transmitted, meaning that the audio range is greater. The greater the range, the closer the signal to the natural range of the human voice. Wideband samples the voice signals at 16KHz, while narrowband samples at 8KHz.

Traditional telephone networks generally use narrowband audio - VoIP uses wideband audio. This means phonecalls via a VoIP connection are much better quality- it's more like talking to someone face to face than over the phone. Users have commented that wideband audio makes it easier to recognise different voices, listen to sounds and differentiate between letters that are often mis-heard, such as 's' and 'f'.

  • Speakerphone

    Speakerphone

Perfect if you're after an impromptu conference or can't pick up the handset.

    Speakerphone

Enjoy hands-free conversations at the touch of a button using the speakerphone feature. With a microphone and loudspeaker, the phone allows several people to speak within one conversation, while the loudspeaker projects the voice of the recipient. A user can switch from receiver to speakerphone any time during an active call using the corresponding button on their keypad or screen.

    Types of speakerphone

Speakerphones use two different systems - full-duplex or half-duplex. The phones Usomo provide are full-duplex, meaning everyone is able to speak and be heard at the same time.

  • Touchscreen

    Touchscreen

Touch, swipe and pinch your way through your phone and apps with a Multi-Touch display.

    Touchscreen

Navigating your phone has never been simpler. The multi-gestured touchscreen creates a responsive and intuitive way to control what's on your screen, perfect for flicking through apps or simply scrolling through your address book.

    Types of touchscreen

There are 3 main types of touchscreen; resistive, capacitive and surface accoustic wave. At Usomo all the phones we supply have capacitive screens, meaning you are provided with an accurate and responsive interface.

These screens don't detect pressure but instead use an electrical charge to measure the conductive properties of whatever it comes into contact with, for example, your finger. As a result the screen won't react to non-conductive objects such as a stylus. The screen includes a layer that stores an electrical charge - when the surface is touched, the charge at that point decreases, and from there the screen can calculate the location of the touch. Capacitive screens are generally more responsive and allow for a lighter touch.nThe thin layered screens ensure that the display contains sharp images, while the electrical charge means cleaning the screen doesn't interfere with the controls.

  • Photographic Phonebook

    Photographic Phonebook

    Associate images with your contacts.

    Photographic Phonebook

Add an image to each of your phonebook contacts by uploading a photograph via either USB or Bluetooth.

  • Bluetooth Server

    Bluetooth Server

Connect a Bluetooth headset or other supported device to your phone for more cordless working.

    Bluetooth Server

Bluetooth is a network that allows a device to connect wirelessly and exchange or synchronise data with other Bluetooth devices. Simply activate Bluetooth, scan for other devices and connect. Editors Review

The SL910H is a truly beautiful phone. It isn't an IP handset, however it can be used with the Gigaset N300 IP base station in order to use it as a VoIP device. Features include a capacitive touch screen, Bluetooth contact integration, and the ability to transfer contact images to the phone book. The phone also has a 'Room Monitoring' function, so if you're out and a certain sound level is reached, the phone can automatically make an outbound call to a designated number, and place the recipient on speaker phone. The handset itself is quite heavy, and the whole device oozes quality. The handset links seamlessly with the base station, however obtaining a stylish handset means certain functionality is lost. The most noticeable issue is that transferring internal and external calls isn't possible, so if you need to be able to do this, this phone isn't for you. The phone also is the only one in our Pay Monthly range which doesn't come pre-provisioned, however this can be easily done. If you're looking for a premium handset and can live with restricted functionality, then I'd wholeheartedly recommend the SL910H.
